About

My name is Ian Anker.

I am a personal trainer, mentor, coach, and partner on my client's paths to healthy and happy lives. I am passionate about helping people reach their health and fitness goals - from losing weight and getting stronger to bodybuilding and every step in between.

My fascination with fitness started at a young age. My dad encouraged me to challenge my limits in competition downhill snow skiing, soccer, and waterskiing.

In a quest to improve, one of my waterskiing coaches suggested lifting weights to improve my skiing.

And that's where it all began.

A gym membership gave me the chance to explore and develop this new interest until it became more like an obsession. I researched nutrition, programming and how to build muscle. Within a few years, I'd gone from 90 lbs. to 140 lbs. and my friends started asking me to train them, plan their workouts and develop nutrition plans.

Wait - I can make a living doing what I love?!? Sold.

I've now been a certified personal trainer for 19 years. I have had the honor of working with many amazing trainers and pro bodybuilders over the years. I've trained in big-name gyms like 24-Hour Fitness and California Family Fitness and taught Crossfit for 6 years.

In 2012, I developed the Anker Fitness brand to allow me to dedicate all of my time and energy to my clients and their personal development.

My "training style" is whatever my client needs to reach their goals. I've trained clients to compete (and place!) in NPC and NGA, and I've trained clients who just need a little added motivation to push harder at the gym. Whether you want to compete, transform your body, or learn to eat healthy for the rest of your life, I can help you get there.

I love what I do. Most of my clients are now lifelong friends.

And I can relate to the challenges of making healthy choices. I've struggled with addiction, battled my way out and now work a solid program. I practice positivity and even I have a workout partner that makes me accountable. I show up 6 days a week to keep myself healthy because I have support and that's what I am for my clients.

If you're ready to become the best version of you I would love to walk this journey with you.
